Founded in 2014 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to advance technology developed by scientists at Tufts University and the University of Pittsburgh, Sofregen is pioneering the use of silk to offer more medical and aesthetic options for surgeons and physicians to address soft tissue regeneration. The cornerstone of Sofregen’s technology is silk, nature’s healing fiber which has been shown to exhibit favorable biocompatibility, absorbability and facilitate native tissue generation.
Sofregen has a number of silk-based innovations under development and plans to introduce a series of new products, including injectables and other advanced tools for soft tissue repair, providing surgeons and patients around the world with enhanced options and better solutions.
Sofregen is most recently the new team behind SERI® Surgical Scaffold, the only silk-based surgical mesh approved for soft tissue support and repair and the choice of hundreds of surgeons in the U.S. Sofregen is committed to advancing the SERI® Surgical Scaffold product line, continually improving pliability, functionality and design.
